stroke

This was a preliminary investigation of the effects of a yoga-based exercise program on people with chronic (greater than 9 months) poststroke hemiparesis. Many people who have had a stroke report an impaired health status because of a reduced level of activity. Proponents of yoga contend that it offers a gentle alternative exercise program that can be easily adapted for people who have had a stroke.

Neck Pain

Many people suffer from neck pain on a regular basis. Stress, poor posture, accidents, and long-stored physiological tension can contribute to a mild stiff neck or even a full-blown muscle spasm of the neck, shoulders, and upper back. When confronted with neck pain, we tend turn to medication or a heating pad for relief. However, there are several yoga poses that have therapeutic effects on the neck as well

Knee Pain

For the patient of knee pain, slow and controlled movement is required. If there is no or less movement, the condition may worsen. With the help of Yoga one can do possible stretching movement. Yoga is good to avoid knee injuries by keeping the knees healthy and flexible. Knee pain management through Yoga, in fact, is possible by stretching and strengthening the surrounding knee muscles.

Fat Thin

Yoga is a known stress buster, but its also one of the most effective workouts for fighting stubborn fat stores, especially the ones that crop up after age 40. Yes, you can use yoga for weight loss. The reason: Studies show that yoga lowers levels of stress hormones and increases insulin sensitivity—a signal to your body to burn food as fuel rather than store it as fat. Start now to see weight loss results in as little as 3 weeks.

Swimming pool

Water yoga is low impact and gentle on the muscles and joints, making it perfect for the elderly, pregnant women and people with injuries or chronic conditions. Additionally, the buoyancy of the water cushions falls and makes certain postures, like handstands, safer than on land. With a little creativity, almost any land asana will translate to water. However, there are some poses that lend themselves to water already

Chest Pain

On an inhalation, drop the abdomen toward the floor as you roll your shoulders, head and upper chest toward the sky. Feel the stretch along the upper side of the chest as you take a long, deep inhalation. On the exhalation, pull your belly button in toward your spine as you round the shoulders, head and chest in toward the body. Repeat this stretch several times, linking your breathing to the motions.

Back Pain

Upon awakening one may sit to have coffee or breakfast before sitting to drive to work. When arriving at work the corporate employee will often sit at a desk or in meetings until lunch. Lunch involves more sitting, before sitting at the desk to finish the workday. Then of course there is the commute home and another sit-down meal.
